I have been offering a Family Dance experience with my friend Jarmila Darby since January of 2007. These intergenerational events create safe space for dancers of all ages to move together in Community. We meet on Saturday mornings and play a wide variety of music from around the world that encourages our bodies to get creative! It's all free-form movement and a wonderful way to be in music together.
Sorry, No Boogie in April!
The next Village Boogie will be on Saturday Morning, May 10th at the Village Ballroom, at 700 NE Dekum. Warm-up/Schmoozing starts at 10:30. At 11:00 we'll begin the dance experience. The DJ will take us through the wave of movement until 11:30 and after closing the circle all are free to socialize until Noon.
Suggested donation: $4-$10 per dancer. Please email for more information or
if you'd like to help out and dance for free!

What a gift. Like the old Autoharp I found in a Day Care closet years ago. I dusted that thing off and within a week of playing and sharing with the children in my classroom saw how powerful music can be. Now that I'm no longer teaching but playing to a wider audience, it's delightful to witness folks of all ages coming together with just a few familiar chords.I do what I call Family Music. Sure, I know tons of children's tunes which are so much fun with lots of room to be creative. And I also know many timeless songs that parents and other adults have a lot of fun singing. I want children and the adults in their lives to have opportunities to share musical fun together.
I offer these harmonious opportunities in a variety of settings:
~ Children's Learning Centers
~ Community Gatherings / Parties
~ Senior Centers
~ Libraries
